Welcome to Otley & Yeadon Labour Party. We are based at the Philip Coyne Labour Rooms in Nelson Street, Otley.
We are part of Leeds North West constituency, represented in Parliament by Labour MP Alex Sobel. During the pandemic, Alex has been holding regular zoom surgeries and zoom meetings with groups and individuals in Otley and Yeadon. He is supported by a hardworking team which deals very efficiently with case work (needs or problems brought to him by individual constituents).
Otley and Yeadon ward still doesn’t have any Labour councillors to represent our area on Leeds City Council, and no Labour councillors on Otley Town Council. Labour could achieve so much more for your area with local town and city councillors who would actively build bridges between the Town Council and the Labour-led City Council, and work with our Labour MP to maintain and improve resources in your area.
Time for a change on May 6th
Two Labour candidates are standing in the by-elections for the town council wards of Ashfield and Danefield om May 6th. (To see a map of town council wards including Ashfield and Danefield click here.)
Richard Davies is our candidate for Danefield ward in the town council by-election.
You can read here about Richard’s priorities for Danefield and the Town Council, identified from living in the ward for over 20 years, and from conversations with people living in the neighbourhood. Keep your eye on his posts over the next few weeks as he sets out his plans for tackling these priorities if he’s elected as town councillor on May 6th.
Lucy Nuttgens is our candidate for Ashfield ward in the town council by-election.
Lucy is also the Labour candidate for Otley and Yeadon ward in the city council elections. You can read about Lucy’s priorities for both town and city council on her own campaign website here.
